Before and after: Air hostess Nadine has won thousands of fans online after sharing how she went from a size 28 to a 10 after losing a whopping 100kg
Nadine has gone viral on TikTok after sharing her dramatic weight loss after starting her new gig as a Qantas flight attendant in a much ‘prettier’ work outfit than her former job’s high-vis uniform.
While Qantas doesn’t have weight limitations for cabin crew it is required to have an ‘excellent’ level of health and fitness such as being able to swim 50 metres fully clothed unassisted and tread water for three minutes.
Thousands were wowed by Nadine’s efforts as the congratulations poured in and some even struggled to believe her before and after was the same person.
‘Beautiful before and after. Amazing effort!’ one woman replied.
‘Well done your an inspiration, you must feel way better,’ a second said.
‘I refuse to believe this is the same person,’ a shocked viewer added.
Before her surgery, the mum struggled with binge eating and disordered eating as she battled with weight fluctuations but is learning to maintain a healthy and balanced relationship with food.
‘I think it’s something I’ll have to work on for the rest of my life but I’m OK with that,’ Nadine said in a post to her popular Instagram page.
She said she would be plagued with guilt after enjoying a treat or food that is thought to be ‘unhealthy’.
‘Whenever I enjoyed my favourite foods there was always feelings of negativity or failure. I had associated eating treats as a sign of weakness,’ she said in another post.
‘The reality is I eat very nutritious and balanced meals most of the time – I also enjoy a treat when I feel like it. I’m finally able to enjoy my favourite treats in moderation and it has been one of the best things I’ve learnt on my journey.’

Nadine reminded her followers she loves her pre-surgery self but now has a ‘new lease on life’ and is able to be the parent she wants to her young daughter.
‘I always thought I’d hate looking back at my ‘before’ photos – but the truth is I don’t. I love all versions of myself. I needed to go through everything I have in order to get where I am today,’ she wrote online.
‘I’m thankful for it all – I feel I have a perspective and understanding that I would not without having been the girl on the left.’
People who undergo bariatric surgery eat much smaller meals as the procedure reduces the sizes of the stomach limiting how much can be consumed at one time.
After surgery they have to stick to a liquid diet then can graduate to small meals of solid, firmer foods around eight weeks later.
Nadine has been sharing what she eats each day a year and a half post-op.
In one TikTok clip she said she started one day with a protein coffee in the morning then for breakfast ha two rye Cruskits with butter, avocado and cheese.
Her snacks that day were a protein nut bar, a mini protein Babybel cheese bite then for lunch she has tuna, mayonnaise and corn with cherry tomatoes.
After lunch Nadine drank a skinny chai latte and half a sourdough bagel with butter.
For dinner she ate half a ready-made butter chicken meal and finished the day with a mini chocolate bar and a small tub of berry yoghurt.
‘Some days I eat a lot more/less. I try to listen to my body and make sure I stay present while eating (as much as possible with an energetic toddler),’ she said in the video caption.
‘Mindfulness while eating is very helpful to me!’
